Clarion Events, organisers of the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show and Practical Classics Restoration & Classic Car Show has launched the inaugural National Car Club Awards in association with Tourism Ireland, supported by Classic Car Weekly, and endorsed by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs.

Dan Nwaokolo, Event Director at Clarion, said: “Having worked so closely with the car clubs across both of our events, the launch of the awards was a natural next step in our ongoing support of the motoring community. These awards not only highlight the achievements of the clubs and members but also encourage the clubs to continue to drive forward.”

Jaguar Enthusiasts Club

Classic car club members and enthusiasts are invited to nominate in a choice of 16 categories that recognise and award the Classic Car Clubs, their devoted members and the cars they cherish - bringing together the classic car and vehicle community and personalities from all over the UK and Ireland.

The awards range from Outstanding New Member Interaction and Best use of Social Media to the Unsung Hero and Club of the Year. There are also five awards on offer relating to the club activity within the Practical Classics Restoration & Classic Car Show.

Mercedes Car Club

The event will also present a lifetime achievement award to a person who has dedicated significant time and effort to the classic car and vehicle community and achieved remarkable accomplishments that have helped the club and/or the classic car movement to grow and to develop.

David Boyce, Deputy Head of Great Britain for Tourism Ireland, associate sponsor of the awards, added: “The island of Ireland has become a popular destination for car clubs from Great Britain given the exceptional car touring routes on offer. We value the role that car clubs represent in bringing trips and rallies to Ireland. Tourism Ireland is proud to support this awards initiative and we wish all the nominees well.”
