H&H Sends 70 Classics to New Homes in Buxton Sale

1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL Pagoda

It was standing room only at H&H Classics’ Pavilion Gardens, Buxton venue last week when the team of auctioneers hammered away 70 cars in the 81-lot catalogue (an 86% sell-through rate).

One of the top-selling classic cars was the wonderful 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL ‘Pagoda’ (above), estimated at £38,000 – £42,000. It eventually left its upper guide price in tatters to sell for £55,160.

1928 Model A Roadster

The pre-War Fords were led home by the 1928 Model A Roadster (above) that went for £17,360, just one of an impressive line-up of Model As and Ts that flanked the historic Pavilion Gardens venue, all of which found new owners.

1922 Ford Model T Truck

Our favourite classic Ford was this 1922 Ford Model T Truck (above), still proudly showing all the scars and wrinkles of its advanced years. Although first registered in 1922, it’s rumoured to have seen WW1 service and it finally sold for £5,376 – a fantastic deal in our view.

Showing love for the classic MG TD (above), this 1953 model, which had seen an extensive restoration and a life in the dry conditions of the U.S., saw a final hammer price of £19,210, despite being left-hand drive.

H&H’s next auction will be at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford on 15 April.
