Report from the Restoration and Classic Car Show
From completed projects, shining under the lights, to rare barn finds resembling not much more than a pile of rusty parts - the 2015 Restoration and Classic Car Show, sponsored by Practical classics, had something for everyone.
With practical skill demonstrations, including panel work, lead loading (below) and refinishing, the thousands of visitors of all skill levels had something to learn.
In the opposite hall to the main demonstrations, parts and tools, were Silverstone Auctions (below), who truly matched the spirit of the show with many restoration lots – some vastly more ambitious than others (top)! Once the final hammer dropped, £1.9 million had exchanged hands.
The live stage and ‘Ask the Expert’ also hosted many stars and experts of the classic car world, which alongside the many demonstrations, exhibits and experts of nearly 100 classic vehicle clubs, meant that no matter what the questions, there was an answer to be found.
We have compiled our gallery of photos from the event, showing just how varied this year’s show was. We look forward to its third year in 2016.
